Sears Holiday Heroes Make the Season Brighter for Chicagoland Children
Volunteers Host Parties for and Purchase, Wrap and Deliver Presents to Kids In
Need
WHO: More than 700 children will receive gifts purchased by Sears
employees. The gifts will be distributed at parties hosted by
Sears Volunteers that will benefit children from five local
organizations, including: Fox View Alliance for Community
Enhancement in Carpentersville; Centro de Informacion in
Elgin, Hope Alive in Chicago; Boys and Girls Club and The
Spanish Center, both in Joliet.
WHAT: As part of Sears continued commitment to the community, the
company's employees are participating in the Sears Holiday
Heroes program to help brighten the holiday season for
children in need. Last week, Sears employees in Hoffman
Estates purchased gifts from Sears Wish Book. Sears
volunteers and their families are wrapping the gifts and will
deliver them to the children at a holiday party hosted by
Sears.
WHERE/
WHEN: Holiday parties will be held at four of the organizations
where children will enjoy refreshments and games in addition
to receiving their gifts from Sears.
Saturday, December 15
-- Fox View, Carpentersville, 2 and 3 p.m.
-- Centro de Informacion, Elgin, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
-- Boys and Girls Club, Joliet, 2 p.m.
-- The Spanish Center, Joliet, 2 p.m.
In addition, Sears volunteers and their children will be
wrapping the gifts earlier in the day at Dart Warehouse
at 8 a.m.
WHY: Sears has a long-standing commitment to Chicagoland families
and children in Chicagoland and nationwide. The Sears
volunteer initiative is a strategic partnership with America's
Promise and the Points of Light Foundation designed to support
America's Youth through volunteering.
